Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we process when you use the FireSolver application (firesolver.net, firesolver.ro), why, how long we keep it and what your rights are, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR").
1. Who the controller is

2. What data we process, why, and on what legal basis

The calculator can also be used without an account. An email address is required to have an account; without it we cannot create one. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not make automated decisions (including profiling) that produce legal effects concerning you.
3. Who we share data with
We use providers (processors) that handle data only on our instructions, under contracts that meet Art. 28 GDPR:
- Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL (Luxembourg): hosting, database, authentication (Amazon Cognito), logs. Data is stored in the EU Frankfurt region (eu-central-1).
- Google Ireland Limited: only if you choose "Sign in with Google" (Google confirms your identity), and for our support mailbox.
- Stripe Payments Europe, Limited (Ireland): payment processing. Stripe is also an independent controller for payment data; see the Stripe privacy policy.
We disclose data to authorities only where the law requires us to.
4. Transfers outside the EEA
Application data is stored in the EU. The providers above belong to US-headquartered groups, so access from outside the EEA (for example, for technical support) cannot be ruled out. In such cases the transfer relies on the EU-U.S. adequacy decision (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework), under which these providers are certified, and/or on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
5. How long we keep data
- Your account and content: for as long as you have an account. After a deletion request we delete them within 30 days; database backups expire automatically within 35 days.
- Technical logs and error reports: 90 days.
- Calculation counters without an account (IP address): at most 2 days.
- Usage statistics: 8 days; the daily key for visitor fingerprints, 2 days.
- Payment and invoicing records: for the period required by Romanian tax and accounting law.
- Support correspondence: as long as needed to resolve the request and any later claims.
6. Cookies and local storage
We only use storage that is strictly necessary for the application to work, with no analytics or advertising cookies, which is why we do not ask for consent:
- Sign-in session: access tokens, in the browser's local storage (localStorage), until you sign out or they expire.
- Preferences: units, theme, palette and other display settings (localStorage), until you clear them from your browser.
- Using the app without an account: the fact that you entered the app without an account (sessionStorage, until you close the tab), the guided tours you have completed and your acceptance of the notice shown before your first calculation (localStorage, until you clear them from your browser).
During payment, the Stripe page may set its own cookies, under Stripe's policy.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. To exercise them, write to firesolver99@gmail.com from your account's email address; we reply within one month. Use the same address to have your account deleted.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (B-dul G-ral. Gheorghe Magheru 28-30, sector 1, Bucharest, www.dataprotection.ro), or with the authority in your country of residence.
8. Security
All connections are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS), data is encrypted at rest, and access to it is limited to your account and to the people who technically administer the application.
9. Children
FireSolver is a tool for professionals and is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the current version. We will notify you of significant changes in the app or by email.
